Updates on Lil E

This is a backdated post. Should've post this in 1 week ago, when Lil E officially turns ONE. Nevertheless, here goes:

Weight ~ 9.12kg
Height ~ 75cm
Teeth ~ 5 (2 on top & 3 at the bottom)

Walking
2 days after she celebrated her 1st birthday, Lil E took her first few steps. Both HuBBY & I witnessed her 'stunts' and boy, we were so happy we caught her 1st steps. But she walks clumsily though. She may trip and fall onto her backside or falls to the front but she's good at breaking the fall by putting her hands forward so she'll land on her knees with her palms on the floor. She really enjoys walking coz whenever we are carrying her, she signalled to be put down onto floor by making some noises and pointing to the floor. When we wanna pick her up, she'll whine and make a a big fuss.

Food/Feeding
Lil E is always interested in whatever food that we eat. Each time we have something to eat, she'd walk over to us, point at the food that we're eating & gestured she wants to have some too.
She has 2 solid meals a day and 3 x 7oz of milk daily. In between she'd have some snacks, she loves bread. We also started giving her a little bit of table food like some steamed egg, steamed tofu & half of a hard boiled egg. Our paed gave us the go-ahead and even encouraged us on letting her try these foods as long as the texture is soft so that Lil E will not choked.

Likes/Dislikes
~ Our little one likes to grab and lifts all kinds of objects that fancies her. She loves to turn the pages of magazines (esp. the astro guide) maybe due to the colourful pages. Also, she likes to grab hold of the tv/astro/dvd remote control and will aimed it at the tv as if trying to mimic the adults on changing tv channels.

~ She starts to love watching TV/Astro programmes esp. cartoons & children's sing-along shows like Barney and of course the commercials.

~ Lil E enjoys playing with us by touching our face, poking into our nose and eyes or sometimes she'll even put her fingers into our mouth to feel the teeth. She'll be laughing out loud while doing these little actions. U may find this 'activity' weird but she surely enjoys it esp before she goes to sleep. Maybe this has been a little ritual before her bedtime.

~ She can be a bit of a busy-body and is best at rummaging my handbag. She will first turn the bag over & pour the contents out as if wanting to inspect what's in there. Then after playing with all the 'contents' and got bored of it, she'll then hold the bag & stood up and starts to walk around the room with the bag in hand. If it happens to be a bigger handbag, she will not have the strength to hold it up but she'll resorts by dragging the bag on the floor. She tend to have this look of authority while walking with the bag in hand.

~ However, Lil E dislikes being restrained in her playpen for too long and will want to move about freely unless she is tired or it is around her naptime.
~ When its raining, she will showed us that she is afraid when there's thunder by giving us this scared look on her face while patting her chest lightly with her hand. We then need to go over and give her a big bear hug for assurance.

Ring!...Ring!...Telephone!
She probably has seen us using the house telephone , as she loves to pick up the receiver & babbles into the telephone. A short while, she'll then put the receiver back and picks it up & babbles into it again. This can go on & on a few times in a row.

Dancing Queen

Lil E loves to dance whenever she hears any kinds of music. As long as there's a tune, she'll be dancing along. Her usual dance moves are by bouncing up & down (by bending her knees) & swing both her hands left & right, all in coordinated movements. She'd give us a big smile while dancing and won't fail to amuse us daily with this antics of hers.

Pain....Pain....
Since she is still walking a bit clumsily, sometimes she would walk & knock her head into the wall or the furniture. She would then gestured us by whining and patting the back of her head even though the part she knocked into was her forehead. As and when we said the word pain....pain....she would understand it by touching the back of her head.
